University Maths Schools are 16-19 state schools that immerse students in the challenge, creativity and life-changing opportunities of maths and maths-related subjects. Founded by and closely linked to leading universities, these schools offer a specialist STEM curriculum of exceptional quality and a vibrant community for budding mathematicians. They are engines of social mobility, working with students from under-represented groups to widen participation in high-quality STEM degrees and careers.

U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools. As the umbrella body for the network, we unite and represent schools, giving them a single voice and connecting them with policymakers, universities, industry partners, funders, and the wider education community.
We support new maths schools from launch and beyond, helping them flourish as vibrant communities where 16–19 year olds can immerse themselves in the subjects they love. Together, we nurture young people’s mathematical curiosity, foster diversity, and inspire the UK’s next generation of creative mathematicians, coders, scientists, and STEM leaders.
Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we amplify the impact of maths schools – promoting excellence in teaching and learning, raising attainment, widening participation, and ensuring the nation’s quantitative talent can thrive.
